A man has been charged following an incident in which a member of An Garda Síochána was injured.
The incident occurred at the weekend when officers were called to attend to a domestic incident at a house in the Ballyjamesduff area.
On Saturday the 16th of December at approximately 9pm one male Garda received non-life threatening injuries and was brought to Cavan General Hospital for treatment and has since been released from hospital care but remains off duty. A man in his 40s was arrested in relation to this incident and has since been charged with offences contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997. He appeared before Monaghan District Court on Monday.
A Garda spokesperson said Garda welfare services have been offered and put in place for the Garda member and his colleagues.
