Gardaí have charged a man in connection with the serious assault of two off duty officers in Dublin. He's due in court this morning following the attack over the weekend.
Stephanie Rohan has the details: "The two off duty gardai had been on a night out in the city when they were assaulted in an unprovoked attack. It happened at the junction of Dame Street and Eustace Street in the early hours of Saturday morning. One of the guards was later discharged from hospital, however his colleague remains in critical condition in Beaumont Hospital.
"It's understood they are both members of the Armed Support Unit Two men in their 30s were arrested following the attack. One has now been charged and is due in court this morning while the second remains in custody."
