A man has been charged in connection to an apartment fire in Carrickmacross.
The incident occurred in the early hours of last Friday (May 28th) on Main Street in the town.
A number of people had to be evacuated from the building after the fire started in the ground floor apartment.
It was quickly brought under control by the local fire service and Gardaí began an investigation.
They arrested a man a short time later.
He has been charged with criminal damage and appeared today at Carrickmacross District Court.
He's been remanded in custody at Cloverhill Prison and is due to appear again before the courts tomorrow.
