A man has been arrested after Gardaí found cocaine in a car in Scotstown.
He was stopped in the early hours of Sunday morning on suspicion of driving while under the influence.
Shortly after 1am on Sunday, Gardaí responded to reports of a car acting suspiciously in the Scotstown area.
A search of the car found evidence of drug taking in the vehicle and nine deals of cocaine, as well as a sum of cash.
The man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and charged under both the Road Traffic Act and Misuse of Drugs Act.
Gardaí in Monaghan issued an appeal on the back of this to remind all motorists to never drive while under the influence of drink or drugs.
