A man has been charged in relation to a cannabis seizure to the value of €195,000 in Castleblayney. The man in his 30s appeared before Cavan District Court earlier today. Gardaí closed off York Street in Castleblayney for a time at around 3pm yesterday afternoon due to the operation.
As part of ongoing investigations into the sale and distribution of controlled drugs, a coordinated intelligence-led operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Louth Cavan Monaghan Crime Hub, and the Revenue Customs Service. During this operation approximately 9.7 kilograms of herbal cannabis, valued at an estimated €194,800, was seized. Local Gardaí say investigations are continuing.
