Man and woman arrested over Castleblayney cannabis haul

Gardaí discovered a growhouse containing 50 cannabis plants, with a street value of €42,000, €46,000 worth of dried cannabis herb and €1,000 worth of MDMA. 

Gardaí in Co. Monaghan have arrested a man and a woman and seized suspected cannabis plants and dried herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €88,000.  The seizure occurred during a search of a premises on Tuesday as part of ongoing investigations into the sale and distribution of drugs.
During the course of the search of a residence under warrant in Castleblayney, a growhouse was discovered containing 50 cannabis plants, with a street value of €42,000, as well as €46,000 worth of dried cannabis herb and €1,000 worth of MDMA.
The operation was carried out by local Gardaí, assisted by the members from Community Engagement Monaghan, Crime Unit Monaghan and Divisional Drugs Unit. The drugs seized will now undergo further analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.  The man and woman (both aged in their 30s) arrested in connection with the investigation are being detained at a Garda station in the Co. Monaghan and investigations are ongoing.
