Two people have been refused bail following a €1.1 million drug seizure in Monaghan and Louth.
A handgun and ammunition were also recovered by Gardaí.
The Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, backed by the Garda Dog Unit carried out the searches under warrant at locations in both counties on Saturday.
Detective Garda Gavin Curran outlined that at an address in Inniskeen, 56 kilogrammes of cannabis herb was found in the back of a van, estimated to be worth 1.12 million euro.
A semi-automatic handgun and five rounds of ammunition which is suspected to be the proceeds of crime was buried in a lunchbox at the location.
Follow up searches in Greenore County Louth found €103,000 in cash.
Two people appeared in Court in relation to the investigation.
29 year old Paul Foley of Inniskeen, County Monaghan was charged with two counts under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
No bail application was made and he was remanded to Cloverhill Prison on Friday.
26 year old Alisha Fagan, with an address at Whitestown, Greenore County Louth was charged with Money Laundering.
A bail application was refused and she remanded to Dóchas women's prison to appear before Monaghan District Court next week.
