A man was airlifted to hospital after he was run over by a digger on an island close to the Share Discovery Village in Lisnaskea.
Members of the nearby RNLI service also attended the incident, which took place at 9.40pm on Monday night.
The volunteer crew on board the lifeboat travelled to the island and assessed the man who had sustained lower leg injuries.
After further treatment it was decided that an airlift to hospital was the best course of action.
The casualty was placed in a stretcher and carried several hundred meters over rough water to the landing site of the helicopter.
Stephen Scott, Lifeboat Operations Manager at Carrybridge RNLI said the man had made the "correct decision" to swiftly call for help and wished him a "speedy recovery" from his injuries.
