A Belturbet native says she tries to makes the most of life each and every day following 16 years of being cancer free this month.
Brenda Drumm Tobin, a mother of two says that people who are diagnosed with cancer need to be left to be allowed to dream and also allowed to plan. She says while no days are guaranteed after a cancer diagnosis she has made lots of memories along the way.
The Co Cavan native who now lives in Kildare recalls finishing up for Christmas at work in December 2006 and not being able to return to her workplace until January of 2008. She says she will never forget being diagnosed with cancer when she was in her 30s and says she had every emotion possible at that time of her initial diagnosis.
Looking back at that time in 2007 when she battled cancer, Brenda says there's the medicine, the personality the will to beat the diagnose that you have been dealt but you also need lots of luck along your journey.
