A major building project for St Clare’s National School in Cavan Town has gone to tender.
The approval was granted by Education Minister Normal Foley and comes following the completion of the architectural planning phases.

The six million euro project includes the provision of 13 new classrooms and a gymnasium.
Cavan-Monaghan TD Brendan Smith welcomed the news, particularly given "the very large increase in enrolment in the school over recent years”.

He also paid tribute to the school Principal, Alma Leonard and to her colleagues, the Board of Management, and the wider school community on their work in bringing the project to this stage.
