Plans have been submitted for a major extension to a direct provision centre in county Monaghan.
Tattonward Ltd have submitted plans yesterday to Monaghan County Council for six detached buildings over an aggregate floor space of almost 2,500 sq m at St Patrick's Direct Provision Centre in Monaghan Town. It’s envisaged the buildings will be divided into three single storey terraces of ten modular residential units, two single storey terraces of eleven modular units and one single-storey terrace of nine modular residential units.
The buildings will result in 61 units of just over 40 sq m each coming on stream for asylum seekers.
Tattonward Ltd have confirmed how the proposed units are being designed with a view to accommodating asylum seekers. County planners will decide on the application by the beginning of May.
