Approval for a major extension at Scoil Mhuire in Rockcorry has been given the green light this week. Minister for Education, Norma Foley, confirmed this latest development yesterday afternoon.
Six new classrooms will be built at the expanding local national school over the next few months. Senator Robbie Gallagher says the 80 pupils, their families, and all those involved in the school community are delighted with the announcement.
He added that Cavan Monaghan Education and Training Board (ETB), and the school's Board of Management had worked diligently to bring the project to fruition. "This is great news for the 80 students that are attending the school and for their parents.
"It's important at this time that we acknowledge the work of Cavan Monaghan ETB; the Board of Management; Principal, Mr Quigley; and all the teaching staff. This is great news for Rockcorry and for the entire community of Rockcorry," Senator Gallagher said.
