A complete resurfacing of Ballybay Main Street will commence next week.
The works are estimated to last two weeks and in addition to Main Street, the works will include the replacement of ramps on the Castleblayney Road and the resurfacing of road from the roundabout at Riverdale to the Castleblayney Road roundabout.
Councillor Seamus Coyle says the works will inconvenience businesses but he added that a traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works.

He told Shannonside Northern Sound that the works will greatly improve Ballybay and that disruption can be kept to a minimum if everyone works together:
