Popular TV chef Neven Maguire paid tribute to his staff and the community of Blacklion.

MacNean House & Restaurant in Blacklion has been crowned best restaurant in Ulster. The All-Ireland final of the Irish Restaurant Awards 2024 took place in the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, on Monday night where almost 1,200 of the Irish hospitality industry's owners, chefs, managers and staff gathered to crown the best establishments from across the country.

Speaking to Northern Sound, celebrity chef Neven Maguire said he has been on "cloud nine" since the win. The Blacklion native said he was "very proud" of his team and attributed the win to each and every member of staff. The popular MacNean House & Restaurant has been at the heart of the Blacklion community since first opening its doors 35 years ago this year. With 60 members of staff currently employed at the award-winning establishment, Neven said "you're only as good as the team around you."
