A local councillor says its lucky no one was killed in Cavan this week during the storms experienced on Sunday and Tuesday night.
Cllr Winston Bennet says with the number up on over a hundred trees falling in the county its lucky that no was killed. He said that this week really highlighted the need for trees along any road to be cut down.
The Fine Gael councillor also wanted to point out that if the landowner owner be it residential or a farm they were responsible and not the local authority. Cllr Bennet highlighted the issue yesterday at the Ballyjamesduff Municipal district meeting. He says something needs to be done by the government to tackle this road safety problem.
