Connolly Brothers in Cavan town is celebrating 100 years in business this week and the store is a hive of activity. Established by Patrick Connolly, the business was handed down to his son Joe and then to Joe's son Paul who now runs and manages the much-loved local store.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Paul highlighted how loyal customers and the spending power in Cavan town have all contributed to Connolly Brothers success. He said the business has been innovative over the years in an effort to keep up with the changing times around it.
He added that local producers, artists and jewellers now form a huge part of the store's offerings. "Each one of them have their own little following and we are all working together with that. A town is not made from one shop; it's made from a community of shop owners and the people around that," Paul said.
