Lower rural speed limits a 'positive' move- RSA

Lowering the speed limit will have a very positive impact on reducing road deaths, in the RSA's view.

Speed limits have been dropped from 80 to 60 kilometres an hour on local rural roads since yesterday.

The Road Safety Authority says post-covid there has been a significant spike in road deaths, with a disproportionate number on rural roads.

RSA spokesperson David Martin hopes it'll lead to fewer people dying on the roads.
