The first phase of a feasibility study carried out on Lough Muckno is due back with local councillors "imminently."
That's according to Fine Gael's Aidan Campbell.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Campbell revealed that the first phase of the report is due back before council members, after that, it will be issued out for public consultation to see what happens next.
In the meantime, Cllr Campbell added that other "temporary works" will be carried out in relation to Hope Castle:
"There's no short-term fix to Hope Castle but at least Monaghan Council are working on it. They're engaging with Fáilte Ireland. There's ongoing talks with Fáilte Ireland but we have to go through the process so the next stage is the report on the environment on planning. They have looked at the feasability of what the visionary report said and we'll see what comes from that".
