Power has been restored to all Uisce Éireann water plants in Cavan and Monaghan but, one boil water notice in County Cavan remains in place. Uisce Éireann has no responsibility for private group water schemes, which may still be experiencing issues following storm Éowyn 12 days ago.
The boil water notices for customers on the Lough Egish public water supply schemes in Monaghan has been lifted just minutes ago. A similar one for customers on the Belturbet, County Cavan, public scheme remains in place at this time.
The utility company says "unfortunately" they cannot be conclusive on a lift date for the BWN but added: "Please be assured our operation and compliance teams are working as quickly as possible to lift the notice." Testing of the water supply requires three tests, a day apart, before it can be considered back to normal. After three tests, Uisce Éireann will then consult with the HSE on lifting the boil water notice.
