The Irish Road Haulage Association says help is available to assist drivers who are yet to apply for emergency Government funding.
The deadline for truck drivers to apply for an €800 Emergency Support Scheme funding has been extended until the 6th of June.
The scheme was announced in March, in response to rising fuel and other business costs in the sector.
President of the Irish Road Haulage Association Eugene Drennan, says the funding has been essential for many drivers in the industry:
"It helps; we may need other supports in the future," he added.
"Fuel is still crazy high, we have never seen anything like this before.
"We will be going back to reviewing this but take up this offer now.
"You are very foolish if you don't take it up."
