Members of the public are encouraged to have their say at the ideas stage of 'Reimaging Monaghan'. Monaghan County Council, in partnership with John McLaughlin Architects and the Monaghan Town Team, have now developed a draft regeneration plan for Monaghan town and St Louis Convent lands. The project is funded by the Heritage Council, and through the first strand of the Town Centre First Heritage Revival Scheme (THRIVE). With the public consultation stage drawing to a close at the end of this week local have been encouraged to "have their say before it's too late."
Drew Hurley is a Senior Executive Planner in the Town Regeneration Sector of Monaghan County Council. Drew says that public consultation provides an opportunity for the community to share their views and feedback on the draft plans for the town and the St Louis Convent Lands. Speaking to Northern Sound, Drew says the consultation was designed to gather views from a broad range of stakeholders, including local residents, business owners, and other interested parties. The closing date for submissions is Friday, the 22nd November.
Monaghan County Council have provided alternative ways for people to still get involved, including making submissions on the Monaghan County Council portal - (QR code attached), by e mailing [email protected] or making submissions to "Reimagining Monaghan", Planning Office, 1 Dublin Steet, Monaghan, County Monaghan, H18X982.
