Locals urged to be vigilant against cold calling

Gardaí are reminding locals to be "vigilant" when dealing with unsolicited callers to your door.
A number of incidents have been reported to Gardaí across the Northern Sound region in recent weeks.

According to Garda Tracy Donaghy of Carrickmacross Garda Station, it is important for people to not feel obliged to open your door to an unsolicited caller.
If you feel that something isn't quite right, do not hesitate to call your local Garda station.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Garda Donaghy reminded people to be vigilant at all times:

She added; "A genuine caller or business person will not have any issue with you checking their ID and verifying who they are."
