The community of Carrickmacross was left outraged after a planting scheme in the town centre was targeted by vandals.
The incident which occurred late on Sunday night was captured on CCTV, with locals now "hopeful" that those involved will be held accountable.
Gerry Hand is Secretary of the award-winning Carrickmacross Tidy Towns group.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Gerry said the people of Carrickmacross take "great pride" in their community and many were left "disgusted."
The Carrickmacross native described the incident as "not acceptable" adding that the Tidy Towns community would not allow vandals to "rule the roost."
