People from across the Northern Sound region have been encouraged to lace up their dancing shoes this weekend in aid of a special cause. James McGrath of JivinGym has organised a ten-hour 'danceathon' to raise money to build a school in memory of his mum Lucia who passed away from Alzheimer's and Dementia at the age of 60. The event will take place tomorrow night in the Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney. James who is originally from Armagh but now lives in Monaghan with his wife has been making his mark since first establishing the popular JivinGym dance school which has only gone from strength to strength since its inception.
Speaking to Northern Sound, James has encouraged locals to don their dancing shoes this weekend and support a cause which is close to his heart. James explained; "We're doing the 'Dance for Lucy' event in memory of my mum who died from Alzheimer's and Dementia at the age of 60. I'm personally going to be dancing for ten hours in memory of my mum and we're going to be building a school in Africa in memory of her called St Lucia's."
