A pump station interruption has caused intermittent supply disruptions to Cavan Town and surrounding areas in Co Cavan.
In a statement issued to Northern Sound on behalf of Irish Water , works have an estimated completion time of 9:30pm later tonight.
Locals are advised to allow 2-3 hours after the estimated restoration time for supply to fully return.
Irish Water says it "understands" the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and that it appreciates their patience as works continue to restore normal water supply.
Irish Water added that vulnerable customers who have registered with them will receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
Elsewhere, supply disruptions to Mullagh, Cross and surrounding areas in Co Cavan are also expected today as a result of repair work to a burst water main.
Works are schedule to take place until 11.30pm today.
