One of the founding members of a local parkrun in the region is encouraging locals to attend one in 2025.
Laura Nultey from Cootehill parkrun says it's a great initiative that has huge benefits.
She says parkrun offer a wonderful social reaction alongside getting people moving and active.
Officially launched in 2014 the free timed 5k run in Cootehill takes place every Saturday morning at 9.30am in Halton's Amenity Park.
Parkruns across the region all take place at the same time on every Saturday morning.
It began as the only parkrun in County Cavan and remains the only run in Ireland whereby participants cross into two counties.
Laura is encouraging people across the Shannonside Northern Sound region if they havent took part in a parkrun to date, to do it this year.
