A Co Monaghan tour guide is calling on people across the region to get out and make the most of Heritage Week 2023.
The national event will run through the week and celebrates Ireland's cultural, built and natural heritage.
The aim of the week is to bring together volunteers, community groups and heritage enthusiasts to share their experience, knowledge culture and practices.
Monaghan tour guide Paddy Sherry says people can perceive heritage in lots of different ways and he says this week is important highlight the local heritage in your area.
Mr Sherry says that people pass buildings each days and don't realise how long they have stood there and how important they are when it comes to the local heritage of the area.
Paddy says the week is aimed for people of all ages with so many events planned, younger people in the region are being encouraged to get involved.
