Locals in Scotshouse have now held a vigil for over 10 days to prevent works being completed on a mast in the village centre.
The community of Scotshouse and the surrounding area say that a mast will not be allowed and they are united in relation to this. Irate homeowners and locals from the idyllic village say this mast will directly impact on the community and they will not stand for it.
They say they believe as residents it is their responsibility to unite and oppose the erection of this mast. Our voices matter, and together, we have the power to advocate for the preservation of the village for generations to come. One resident told Northern Sound that it’s been a great worry and great concern and is taking a toll on locals’ mental health.
The community say they have had no consultation in relation to this and united residents have held a vigil at the site ever since workers arrived last week. Meanwhile, Local Minister Heather Humphreys has called on Eir to engage with locals in Scotshouse on this matter.
