A local youth worker says more needs to be done to educate young people on the introduction of new laws.
It comes after new research for Women's Aid found that 53 per cent of 18 to 25 year olds surveyed didn't know it was now illegal to share intimate images without consent.
Earlier this year "Coco's Law" was introduced to combat online harassment, and was met with much publicity.
However Caolán Faux, the director of Youth Work Ireland Cavan-Monaghan said it wasn't surprising to hear this research, and estimated that it'd be a similar or higher percentage across all age groups.
He told Shannonside Northern Sound that it comes down to how laws are discussed.
