A local youth group has launched a drugs and alcohol awareness campaign that has been hailed for providing information in a relatable way.
This afternoon, Monaghan Comhairle Na nÓg showcased their new wallet cards and posters which provides advice on what to do in an emergency situation involving drink or drugs.
The group had many online meetings to co-ordinate their work and have devised a wallet card for young people and a poster that will be put up in underage drinking hotspots around the town.
The Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council, Colm Carthy, praised the group's non-patronizing approach to the campaign, which he says was "devised by teenagers for teenagers".
