The issue of an unfinished housing development in Carrickmacross has been raised once again.
Cllr Colm Carthy raised the the issue at the most recent sitting of Monaghan County Council describing the site as been very sore on the eyes for the past 15 years.
The Council intend to develop the site to offer much needed social homes which would see 33 homes being delivered which 7 has been delivered to date.
This estate is the only unfinished housing estate in the wider Carrickmacross area. Cllr Carthy says Monaghan County Council's Housing Section has been endeavouring to find a way forward for this project.
The local authority says it's hoped that revised funding approval will be received in this month and that the developer will be back on site shortly after that. Cllr Carthy says that the sooner the homes are delivered the better.
