A local travel agent says the industry needs dates from government sooner rather than later to help them recover.
The publication of green countries has been pushed back to the 20th of July, however, Mark Clifford of O’Hanrahan Travel in Monaghan, wants action earlier than this.
He says that the pandemic has decimated the sector as they were the first hit, and will be the last to return and a date is needed so staff can return to work, and there is something to sell to customers.
Mark also has called on the wage subsidy scheme to be extended to March of 2021 for the sector, as well as urging the local authority to look sympathetically at rates.
