The mother of a Carrickmacross teenager who requires specialised treatment in America says the family will be there in the coming weeks because of the kindness of the community.
Stephen Kirk has Stage 4 Glioma, which is a type of tumour that occurs in the brain and spinal cord.
The treatment Stephen needs is only available in Texas and will cost the family €300,000 to access.
At a recent Carrickmacross-Castleblayney MD meeting, councillors said they "will not be found wanting" in offering support to the family as they granted permission for a fundraiser in Drummond Etra top square this Sunday.
