Members of the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund committee recently made a trip to Monaghan to be presented with funds from Emma McCague.
The Monaghan teenager organised "23 Hours for Ashling" last March after been touched by Ashling's life, love of music, style of fiddle playing and lasting legacy.
The 16 year old was keen to organise a tribute to her by taking on the challenge of organising a weekend of trad sessions within her school and local community.
The musical challenge lasted for 23 hours, an hour for each year of Ashling's short life. With the support of many, the fundraiser raised a total of €3,720.
