"Time is being lost" in dealing with the Brexit Protocol to the detriment of issues like the cost of living in the North.
That's according to local TD Brendan Smith, who says the protocol is taking attention away from day-to-day concerns.
The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, is in Belfast to meet with political leaders in the North, but the DUP's refusing to enter a government until the trade agreement with the EU is scrapped.
Westminster is expected to take action on that imminently, with an announcement expected in Parliament tomorrow, which could trigger an EU trade war.
