A local TD says he doesn't know if an A & E unit for Monaghan Hospital is achievable.
The new programme for Government has set out a number of new targets in the area of health.
Some of these include increasing the number of hospitals providing 7 day a week care and reducing hospital waiting lists.

Four new elective hospitals are also part of the plan.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Cavan-Monaghan Fine Gael TD David Maxwell says he'd like an A & E unit for Monaghan opened.
He added, however, that he's not sure if it's achievable
