The 34th Dáil got underway earlier today where all 174 elected TDs were officially welcomed to the chamber. Deputy Cathy Bennett along with Deputy David Maxwell were among 60 plus new TDs who took their seats in the Dáil for the first time today.
Speaking to Northern Sound from Leinster House, Deputy Bennett described today as "very exciting" not just for herself but for her family and constituents. Deputy Bennett who sat as a Sinn Fein councillor on Monaghan County Council for the last 12 years said she isn't afraid of hard work and will put her "best foot forward" for the people of Cavan/Monaghan. Speaking to Northern Sound, Deputy Bennett described her election to the 34th Dáil as a "good challenge" and "great opportunity."
