A local TD says he’s baffled by “disciplined” Monaghan GAA players holding a group training session against restrictions.
The incident came to light after footage of senior players gathering at the Corduff GAA grounds was sent to the Department of Justice.
It has since been revealed that up to forty players and coaches attended the session that led to the suspension of Seamus “Banty” McEnaney for twelve weeks.
The Gardai and the GAA are investigating the incident for possible Covid-19 breaches, as senior intercounty training isn’t allowed back until April 19th.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, Fianna Fail’s Brendan Smith said he was surprised to hear of such events so close to the resumption of play.
