A local TD has called on the Minister for Health to outline a roadmap for vaccinating people who are housebound.
The National Ambulance Service has been providing vaccines to people who are confined to their homes, upon a referral from their GP.
While Fianna Fáil's Niamh Smyth says paramedics are "doing their utmost", she highlighted that the seventh oldest person in Ireland, who is in her own constituency, has yet to receive a vaccine.
Deputy Smyth has raised the issue with the Taoiseach in an effort to ensure that these "gaps are filled in quickly".
She says a "plan b" allowing GPs to administer the vaccine should be implemented:
