The Minister for Health must show real leadership and take reasonability in tackling the crisis in public hospitals serving the Cavan-Monaghan region.
That's according to local TD Matt Carthy.
Deputy Carthy has called for a series of measures to alleviate pressure on acute hospitals and improve management of emergency care.
The Sinn Féin TD said that the Health Minister must convene daily meetings with HSE leadership and regularly engage with regional management to ensure all public and private healthcare resources are being used to the best effect.
He said that as a result of what is a systemic failure in the in our health services.
It is a result of the failure of successive governments to ensure that we have developed an economically strong public health system that has the capacity to care for all of our citizens.
The local TD says at the moment there is people suffering indeed dying in our hospitals because of the failure of successive governments and it's unacceptable,
