The Chair of the Joint Committee on Tourism says the message from hospitality is "loud and clear" on what supports they need from the government.
Representations were made yesterday to the Joint Committee for the 9% VAT rate to remain in place until 2025, alongside an extension to the waiver on commercial rates paid to local authorities.
Local TD Niamh Smyth chairs the Committee and said the groups representing pubs, restaurants, and hotels "acknowledged that government supports have been very helpful".
However, she added that rural pubs have been badly hit and said she will put together a "comprehensive report" based on the recommendations that were brought to the Committee.
