A local TD says Ireland will be leading the way in Europe with the new Online Safety Bill.
Deputy Niamh Smyth, the chair of the Joint Committee overseeing the bill said today's pre-legislative report will make for ground breaking changes in digital safety.
There have been 33 recommendations made including the establishment of a content levy, individual complaints mechanisms, regulation of illegal and harmful content, and advertising standards.
