A local Sinn Féin TD says the Education Minister lacks a "credible plan" around the re-opening of special education.
Special education schools had been due to re-open tomorrow, but those plans have now been deferred after disagreement with teaching unions.
Unions representing teachers and SNAs said there was considerable fear and anxiety among staff.
Pauline Tully says Minister Norma Foley had "nine months to plan and organise for this", but "instead we had last minute ill-considered plans, which collapsed just as quickly".
