Cavan Monaghan TD, Deputy Pauline Tully was one of a number of elected representatives that attended an Oireachtas Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement this week.
The informal meeting was also attended by Minister of State for Northern Ireland Conor Burns MP.
Discussions took place around the Northern Ireland Protocol; Northern Ireland Assembly formation; the Nationalities and Borders Act 2022; and the Identity and Language (Northern Ireland) Bill.
Cathaoirleach of the Joint Committee, Deputy Fergus O'Dowd, described proceedings as "engaging and frank".
He added that as co-guarantors of the Good Friday Agreement it was essential for members to maintain "strong relations" so that all matters around the Northern Ireland Protocol can be resolved.
