Local TD Niamh Smyth is chairing a Joint Committee meeting this afternoon on the impact of covid-19 across the tourism sector.
Deputy Smyth is the chair of the Joint Committee on Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht, and she says members want to "examine how the pandemic has devastated tourism across the country".
The committee will hear from Ruth Andrews, the Chair of the Tourism Recovery Task Force, as well as the CEO of the Dunbrody Famine Ship and the General Manager of Buswells Hotel in Dublin.
Deputy Smyth told Shannonside Northern Sound that today's meeting is about ensuring the tourism sector can be "reignited" once Level 5 restrictions are lifted:
