Deputy Niamh Smyth has met with Taoiseach Micheal Martin to discuss the delivery of further education and training in Cavan and Monaghan.
She said the need for a new building to accommodate student numbers at Cavan Institute was never as evident.
Deputy Smyth said she impressed upon the Taoiseach the importance of delivering the building.

The local Fianna Fail TD also highlighted how it must be developed close to the existing campus in Cavan town.
This, she added, would enhance both student life, and the delivery of courses there.
