The increase cost of fuel was raised once again this week in the Dail.
Deputy Matt Carthy raised the issue following a further increase to the Carbon Tax. The local TD said that 12 euro has been added to a tank of fuel since the current government came into power.
Speaking in the Dail, Deputy Carthy asked local Minister Heather Humphreys if she recognises that these increases penalise families and workers in the region. He asked her if she would call on the extra charge be removed from the current carbon tax rate.
Responding to Deputy Carthy, Minister Humphreys pointed out the amount of people that benefit from the carbon tax including allowing a reduction of up on 20 percent on public transport.
