A Cavan Monaghan TD has described the current situation for the proposed move of the new National Maternity Hospital to the site of St Vincent's Hospital as "baffling".
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show earlier today, Pauline Tully said that while the new hospital needs to be built as soon as possible, it also needs to be "done right."
Ms Tully shared her concerns as to why St Vincent's only offered a 299 year lease of the land, as opposed to "gifting it" to the state.
The Sinn Fein representative says she "does not understand" as to why the situation cannot be resolved easily, and that everyone must ensure it is built on public owned land.
