A Cavan-Monaghan TD has called for the moratorium on domestic disconnections to be extended.
The Commission for Regulation of Utilities has extended a moratorium on disconnections until the 1st of December, in line with the current Level 5 restrictions.
However, Pauline Tully says that "does not go far enough" and is backing a Bill that would introduce a winter disconnection ban.
The Sinn Féin TD says we can't have a situation where people in financial difficulty have their gas or electricity cut off in the middle of winter for a failure to meet their bills on time.
