The three electricity credits in last year's budget that were delivered through the winter were very effective and benefited so many across the region.
That's the view of Cavan/Monaghan TD Deputy Niamh Smyth who says there is a need for further measures to help levitate the cost of living crisis in Budget 2024
The Fianna Fail TD says she raised the matter with Minster for finance Michael McGrath at the party's think in gathering that was held earlier this week.
The local deputy said she highlighted to her party colleague minister that people across the region really found the energy credit a real measurable benefit and more were needed to tackle high electricity costs.
Deputy Smyth says the high prices are not going to come down much anytime soon and further supports were needed.
